The Georgia Football team was starting to look a little thin at quarterback for the 2017 season. While they might have two highly rated 5 star players, they lacked another scholarship QB on the roster. That changed on Thursday when Graduate Transfer candidate Brice Ramsey decided to play his final college season in Athens.
Ramsey was expected to battle with freshman Jake Fromm for the backup QB position before he decided to transfer. Despite not being a part of the team, he volunteered
to stay on campus and help out the team during recent spring training sessions. With only 3 QB’s in total, Ramsey there for the team to help receivers to get more reps. This kind of commitment really helped the team out and showed a lot about the kind of guy that Ramsey is.
Ramsey has developed a reputation as a team first guy who is well respected in Athens. Despite never really having the opportunity to live up to his initial hype on campus as a 4 star recruit, he’s always been a good solider. He’s seen several other prospects come in and play ahead of him. However he has continued to be a great member of the team and there’s no doubt he’ll be welcomed back.

This is a great piece of news for a program that could use a boost. Ramsey’s experiences in Athens will certainly be useful for Eason and Fromm. There’s also the chance that he ends up giving the coaches the chance to redshirt the later.
