Georgia Football: 2018 commit Jaevon Becton
The upside is real.
Don’t let his currently low ranking fool you, Becton could be a real impact player. He’s not a particularly prolific camper and he comes from an area where prospects can get overlooked. His raw ability is pretty clear when you watch him play and there’s a good chance he’s a player whose stock rises a lot in his senior season.
Looking at the highlights, it’s pretty clear that Becton has some athletic tools. He might not jump off the page like some of the truly freakish athletes, but he flashes. Becton has a lot of work to do over the next few years to get on the field at UGA, but fortunately he is going to be heading to a school that currently has depth.
Not only does Georgia have depth in seniors Lorenzo Carter and Davin Bellamy, but it also has several young players from the past two classes. Players like Walter Grant and Jaden Hunter will hopefully be establishing themselves by the time Becton arrives on campus. This gives him plenty of chance to develop with a good coaching staff and maximize his potential.
