Watching the film, it looks unlikely that Becton is the kind of player that will make an impact as a freshman. He’s one of those players that looks like he’s destined to redshirt. He will also spend a few years developing behind a strong cast of players. Becton also has the athleticism to impact special teams. This in particular is something that’s very important to Beamer as well as Kirby Smart. It’s still too early for me to put a player comparison on Becton, but hopefully we’ll have a better idea of that after his senior season.

Next: Monday Morning Recap

The later is something Kirby Smart is really trying to build at the moment. Expect several top 2017 players to make an impact on special teams. Becton will likely do the same. Smart has a lot of experience of this from his time at Alabama. Getting high level atheltes to impact the game while still learning their positions is something coaches love. It’s unlikely that fans will hear Becton’s name much early on. However, he’s the kind of player we could all notice down the line.
