It’s crazy to say this, but there is a really good chance that Ericson is only the 3rd best guard UGA sign in 2018. They are still well in the race for #1 ranked Jamaree Salyer and #2 Trey Hill. Both of whom are top 50 player sin the entire nation. Ericson is not on their level in terms of overall talent, but the fact that he has chosen to come here even with the OL haul that came in last year and this years targets, shows just how much he wants to play for his home state and Sam Pittman.

I wouldn’t expect him to start any time soon, but he’s the kind of guy who could start at a lot of programs in his freshman season. Expect him to push others to get better on day 1. While it might take him 2 -3 years to see playing time, I wouldn’t be shocked if he ended up at UGA for a long time.

Even if Georgia sign Hill and Salyer, I expect Ericson to find a way onto the field at some point. He might redshirt and he might end up in Athens for 5 years, but he strikes me as the kind of high character tough guy you keep in your program. He’ll find a way to contribute at Georgia, there’s no doubt in my mind of that.
