Georgia Football: Does missed commitment help UGA get Zeus?
What other RB’s might UGA be looking at for the 2018 class?
Georgia will take 2 running backs in the 2018 class. No doubt about it. With Sony Michel and Nick Chubb both going pro after the season, UGA will be looking for depth as well as talent. A lot of people thought that Teague was their focus to go alongside Zamir White. With him now out of the picture, the question is who else are Georgia looking at to be that second guy to come in with the man they call Zeus.
One name to look out for is Harold Joiner. Joiner was in Athens this past weekend and is one of the top ranked RB’s in this particular class. A 4 star player out of Alabama, he’s 6 ft 3 and nearly 220lbs. He’s got size as well as speed and could be a really interesting compliment to White. He’s seen as a heavy LSU lean at the moment but UGA seems to be making a push for him.
Lyn-J Dixon and Dameon Pierce are two in state prospects that could be a possibility. Neither of them have been heavily prioritized by Georgia so that would have to change for them to consider staying in state. I think Dixon is more likely than Pierce. The later was not prioritized by UGA at G-Day this spring.

Lastly, a wildcard to keep your eye on in James Cook. The younger brother of former FSU superstar Dalvin Cook is currently an FSU commit. It would make sense for him to follow his brothers lead and play for the Seminoles. However he might want to blaze his own trail and he was also in Athens recently. He’s been seen wearing UGA gear a few times at events so although it’s unlikely, there’s certainly a shot.
