Most Georgia Football fans will remember Sony Michel breaking his arm around this time last year. With Nick Chubb coming back form his knee injury, this was a serious blow to dawg fans. Michel was able to come back and have a successful season in 2016. Part of the reason for that was the arm guard the UGA engineering department created for him.

A feature made about this ‘armour’ was just nominated for an Emmy. The official UGA account posted it today so check it out. It’s well worth spending 5 minutes watching, not only because of the cool tech, but also to see how universities are able to find innovative ways to solve problems thanks to their many resources.

One thing is for sure, if it keeps Sony feeling good, I think we’re all on board with him using this for a while.
