There has been a lot of hype about 5 star quarterback Justin Fields since his recent decommitment from Penn State. Fields is a  6’3 221 pound dual-threat quarterback with 4.5 40 yard dash speed. He could really be a threat in the UGA system. There has been a great deal written about why Georgia Football is going to struggle to win his signature. Most obviously this is because of the current top prospects UGA has at QB. But Georgia also has a few advantages that could help in the recruitment of Justin Fields.

Proximity to Home

Justin Fields attends Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. He is the number 1 rated dual-threat and lives in the Dawgs’ back yard. Kennesaw is about a 2 hour drive to Athens, which would be convenient for Fields and his family. They’d be able to attend most games with ease. The drive from Kennesaw to UGA would be a lot easier too.

Grew up a Dawg fan

Fields and his family are indeed UGA fans. Justin has made multiple comments on his Twitter account about being a die hard Georgia fan growing up.

Family Ties?

Jaiden Fields is a name a lot of UGA fans better learn. She is the younger sister of Justin. Jaiden is one of the best softball players in the class of 2019. She is currently a UGA Softball committ. Could she be the UGA secret weapon?

In short:

Next: The Goose is loose!

Nobody is saying this is a done deal, or a slam dunk. But Georgia has a better chance than some might think. Look out for some more in depth reviews of the Fields to Georgia possibility coming soon on DotD.
