Amarlo Herrera’s future

So as a former Georgia Bulldog, Amarlo Herrera would fit right in. In 43 starts as a Bulldog, Herrera made 334 tackles and intercepted three passes, including one to end the 2014 Georgia versus Auburn game.

Herrera definitely has the size and athleticism to wrestle in the WWE at 6’1 and around 250 pounds. But there’s more to wrestling than just looking the part. There’s character, in ring skills and a total adjustment to a new lifestyle.

Herrera may not have to deal with everything Wilson went through in the 1970’s, but life on the road and being physical with another person three-to-five days a week are still major parts of wrestling.

But if the Bulldog Nation knows anything about Herrera, it’s that he’s a worker. 247 Sports had him just outside of their top-200 as a four-star player in 2011. They also ranked him as the no. 11 inside linebacker and no. 19 player from Georgia.

Expectations were high, but no one expected an immediate impact. Yet Herrera became a major contributor as a freshman and became a full-time starter as a sophomore. He was never a superstar at Georgia, but was never seen as a hole on the defense either. Herrera was a solid player that impressed enough people to be selected in the 2015 NFL Draft.

If Amarlo Herrera is serious about a career in the WWE, you shouldn’t expect anything less than a great effort out of him.

Hopefully the former Bulldog can one day appear on one of WWE’s top-two shows. Maybe he can even slam Titus O’Neil (a former Florida Gator who played under Steve Spurrier).
