2017-18 Georgia basketball non-conference schedule (cont.)

Georgia travels to Marquette (19-13, 10-8 Big East) after the conclusion of the Wooden Legacy Tournament. Georgia had quite a letdown against Marquette last year in Athens so the Bulldogs will look to avenge that loss.

Just a few days later, Georgia has another major challenge against the defending Big South Conference Champions Winthrop (26-7, 15-3).

After that however, Georgia’s last three games on the non-conference schedule should be easy wins aside from Georgia Tech (21-16, 8-10 ACC). After an 11-day break, Georgia travels to Massachusetts (15-18, 4-14 Atlantic 10).

The Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets renew Clean, Old Fashioned Hate on December 19th. Then Georgia hosts Temple (16-16, 7-11 American) just three days before Christmas.

It’s not an easy non-conference schedule with Texas A&M-CC, Winthrop and maybe a game against Saint Mary’s. Georgia Tech, Marquette and someone in the Wooden Legacy will also be tough to beat.

But with the talent on this team, there’s no reason why the Bulldogs can’t win at least 10 non-conference games. Georgia has a clear talent advantage over everyone on their non-conference schedule except for Georgia Tech, they just need to play like it.

If the Bulldogs end up having a disappointing stretch in non-conference play, Mark Fox’s time in Athens may be coming to an end.
