Former Georgia Bulldogs star Malcolm Mitchell is already building quite a career outside of football.

It’s been a pretty good few years for Malcolm Mitchell. Not only did the former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver end up getting drafted in the 4th round by the New England Patriots. He also ended up winning a Superbowl in his very first year in the NFL. He made a big impact in that game as well, coming up big for 6 catches and 70 yards.

Now it seems that Mitchell has his next career all lined up. In 2016, he self published a children’s book called ‘The Magician’s Hat’. It was announced yesterday by the AP that Scholtastic books are going to publish this book going forward. The book will be released in 2018 with new illustrations and it will be the first in a new 3 book deal. So Mitchell will have some more writing to do over the next few years.

It’s always cool to see former dawgs making an impact and it’s great to see Mitchell achieve something like this. He’s been a big literacy advocate for several years and this remains a big passion for him. The fact that he’s been able to transition this into a career so early is all the more impressive. So if you’ve got little dawgs at home and you want to get a good book for them, Mitchell’s got you covered!
