5. Terrence Edwards: Canadian Football League

“Whatever happened to Terrence Edwards,” you might have asked yourself in 2010. Well he was busy becoming one of the best wide receivers in the Canadian Football League.

After a very short tenure with the Atlanta Falcons, Edwards traveled to Canada where the Montreal Alouettes signed him. However, he only played in 11 games in two seasons in Montreal catching 39 passes for 437 yards.

But in 2007, Edwards signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he became a star wide receiver in the CFL. In his first year as a Bomber, he caught 80 passes for 1,280 yards with nine touchdowns in the regular season, he added 13 catches for 120 yards in the playoffs where the Bombers lost in the Grey Cup.

His numbers dipped slightly in the next two seasons going from 1,010 yards with seven touchdowns in 2008, to 816 yards and five touchdowns in 2009. But in 2010 he had another stellar season with 1,372 yards and a career high 12 touchdowns.

When he retired after the 2013 season, Edwards had compiled 7,200 yards and 46 touchdowns in seven seasons as a Blue Bomber.

The CFL named Edwards as an All-Star twice (2007 and 2010) and as an East All-Star three times (2007, 2010 and 2011). he is yet to receive any post retirement awards from the league or the Blue Bombers. But with his résumé, those accolades will certainly come.
