Why did he pick Georgia?

White told people in interviews afterwards that Georgia had been his leader for some time. He obviously decided he wanted to go through the process and see if there was anything better out there. He concluded in the end that Georgia was the place for him. Why was that?

Well Dawgnation insider Jeff Sentell reports that there were a number of factors. Georgia’s running back tradition certainly helped. So did the playing time that would be available with Sony Michel and Nick Chubb leaving after this season. The man himself said Alabama came in second and the fact that he would be unlikely to play in his freshman season ended their shot at him. In short, Georgia ticked all the boxes he was looking to fill.

One of the things that fans should feel happy about is that White has now shut down his recruitment. No more visits to other schools, not more chats with other coaches, he is done. He gave himself plenty of time to make his decision and now he’s locked into UGA. That’s a great thing to hear because it means coaches can focus more attention on other players. Not that they will ignore Zeus, but there are only so many hours in a day. Every one they can focus on someone else is a big win for these coaches.
