Nike’s ‘The Opening’ high school camp is one of the top showcases in the nation. The sports company have been holding trials all over the country to find the top 166 athletes to invite and this was the weekend they all got together. Last year Georgia Football had quite a lot of commitments at the event. This year there are only 2. CB Chris Smith is in the 2018 class and has been a really great recruiter for that year. 2019 DE Nolan Smith has found himself a very wanted man and his head is being turned by other programs.

However there are a lot of serious UGA targets at the event. It wouldn’t be surprising if when all was said and done, as many as 10 of the attendees head to Athens.
