SEC Media Day is upon us.

It’s that time of year again. The time we we can all officially get excited that football is near. SEC Media day is on Tuesday and the Georgia Bulldogs are sending some of their best. This year, Nick Chubb, Sony MIchel and Roquan Smith will be Georgia’s representatives.

That’s a really good group of players who are leaders both on and off the field. Smith has absolutely become the heart and soul of Georgia’s defense the past few years. He’s a speed demon, tackling machine and it’s going to be really exciting to see him in Alabama. Hopefully this is a sign of him really stepping up and being a leader on that unit, which considering his position would be great.

To me, Smith is the closest thing in the SEC this year to Ruben Foster. He might not quite have the physicality Foster brought, but man can he fly around the field. Hopefully 2017 is the year he confirms himself as the top ILB in the SEC. The fact that he has been chosen to go to Media day over the likes of Lorenzo Carter and Davin Bellamy shows jut how much the coaching staff think of him.

Chubb and Michel are, well they are Chubb and Michel. I’m so excited to see them play in 2017. I think we’re all going to be treated to some really special seasons by both of them. Having two highly talented leaders like this is something very special. 2017 will be the last year they both wear the red and black. I’m going to make sure I enjoy events like this with them.
