Georgia football: Predicting offensive skill player ratings for NCAA Football 18
Team overall
Before checking player ratings, it always helped to check the team ratings to get a good idea of what individual players were rated.
Offense
Georgia’s offense wasn’t all that great last year and the offensive line is still a question. But the offense should be much better than last year and the return of Sony Michel and Nick Chubb will keep the rating in the 80’s.
Add in Jacob Eason going into his second season, a great group of tight ends and a developing receiving corps, Georgia’s offense should be good enough to earn Georgia a B+
NCAA 2017 rating: 85, B
NCAA 2017 rating: 88, B+
Defense
Georgia’s offense will be better, but the defense is going to win the games. The last time the NCAA Football series hit the market, Georgia’s defense was largely mediocre. The 2013 defense that gave up all-time highs in points and yards was the defense Georgia fans were given that year.
But things have changed since then and Georgia’s defense has gotten progressively better since 2014. Now Georgia has one of the best defenses in the SEC led by probably the most talented group of linebackers in the nation.
The Bulldogs also possess a ton of depth and talent on the defensive line and a solid group of defensive backs. An A+ should be in order.
NCAA 2017 rating: 94, A
NCAA 2018 rating: 98, A+
Overall
Last years team had a lot of questions. New first-year head coach, new true freshman starting quarterback, all-new receiving corps. The defense was great but the offense would have brought Georgia’s overall rating down. The same will be true this year, just not as much.
