3. 2004 Georgia vs LSU

October 2, 2004 was a date circled, highlighted and circled again by the Bulldog Nation. In 2003, Georgia lost to LSU not once, but twice. First was the close loss in the regular season, then the embarrassing loss in the SEC Championship game.

We didn’t like LSU going into the 2004, we wanted revenge. Did we ever get it.

Georgia opened the game with a 24-0 lead. How’s that for revenge. Greene and Reggie Brown connected for touchdown passes of 29 and 25 yards. Greene also found Gibson for a two-yard touchdown. Andy Bailey’s field goal made the score 24-0.

LSU did manage to score 10 points before halftime to slim the lead down to 24-10, but the outcome was never in question. Greene-to-Gibson for a 24-yard touchdown and Greene-to-Sean Bailey for a 21-yard touchdown extended the lead to 38-10. Thomas Brown scored from two yards out to make the score 45-10.

LSU did score one more touchdown in garbage time, but the Bulldogs got their revenge. LSU left Athens after an embarrassing 45-16 defeat.
