“Bulldog Bite” by Clisby Clark

Why isn’t this song already being played at Sanford Stadium? Even the Redcoat Band doesn’t play the song as much as they used to. Which is a shame because it’s a great song that is already about Georgia football.

And it’s a song that is 37 years old. Only 11 years younger than “Baba O’Riley if you just need that classic rock fix at Georgia games.

If you’re not already pumped enough for a game when you’re inside Sanford Stadium, the chorus “hunker down Hairy Dawg (x2), hunker down for a fight (x2), when you meet the Georgia Bulldogs you’re gonna feel the bulldog bite,” should get you in the mood.

How many kids these days even know about this song. The Redcoats play the chorus every now and then, but they don’t know the lyrics. To them it’s just another jingle the band plays. It’s more than that.

Bulldog Bite is about being a Georgia fan. Cheering on the Dawgs from September until early June. Thinking about victories and humming Georgia tunes. And more importantly, it’s about Georgia being ready for a fight which makes it the best song to play right before the opening kickoff.
