“Kirby’s Junkyard Dawgs”

I know what you’re thinking. This isn’t a real song, how can I just make something up. But hear me out. We’ve established that Georgia has produced numerous popular musicians over the years. And the number of new popular acts isn’t dropping.

So Georgia football should get in touch with a few of these Georgia artists to produce an updated version of “Dooley’s Junkyard Dawgs.” There’s hip hop acts like Ludacris, OutKast, Goodie Mob, 2 Chainz, Lecrae among others. Metal group Sevendust once recorded a song for the Atlanta Falcons so why not one for the Bulldogs.

Of course Georgia has produced just as many popular R&B and country artists that could perform the song. But why choose one when UGA could chose several? A few acts can chip in to add to the Georgia artists for the Georgia Bulldogs theme of the song.

And what better song to replace a 1971 political ballad by a British band than a song by Georgia artists about nothing but football and beating our opponents? Nothing, that’s what. The University should get on this as soon as possible.
