Scenario 1: UGA goes 8-0 in SEC play

Keep in mind that scenario 1 is the most unlikely out of the three, but it’s not impossible. UGA’s toughest conference games will come at Tennessee in week 5, against Florida in week 9, and at Auburn in week 11, but their match-ups with South Carolina and Kentucky also can’t be overlooked.

Obviously, if Georgia was to go undefeated in conference play in 2017, they would control their own destiny and wouldn’t need to rely on other teams losing for them to get into the conference title game. All eight of Georgia’s SEC opponents for the upcoming season are definitely beatable, but you must remember Georgia is Georgia, and they have gained a reputation for not living up to the hype in big games.

Hopefully this is the year all of that is changed, but it is very hard for any SEC team to win every single conference game they play in a single season, as you have to bring your absolute best week-in and week-out. This scenario would no doubt be the most pleasing for Dawg fans if it were to work out like this, but the Bulldogs haven’t gone undefeated in conference play since 1982. So don’t consider it probable.
