The 2017 Georgia football season is coming soon, which means football tailgating is also on the way.
Tailgating in the SEC. It’s a tradition unlike any other. And while I may be a little bias, I have experienced it at a few schools in multiple conferences across the South. I can tell you with plenty of confidence and honesty that we do it as good, if not better, than anyone in the land at Georgia.
A fall Saturday in Athens is about as good as it gets. Food, cold beer, maybe a little brown liquor, some good music, and good friends all setting up within walking distance of the great Sanford Stadium make game days in Athens more than just meeting up to go watch a ballgame. The whole day is an event.
From the ride there to setting up, tailgating, going to watch Georgia football play and hopefully win, to the after party, UGA Gameday is like a festival. Red and black as far as the eye can see. And if you do it correctly, you can become a true tailgating guru like me.
Season isn’t far away, and the first game against Appalachian State is a 6:30 kickoff. That means ALL DAY tailgating. In the words of the great Nature Boy Ric Flair, “WOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
So let’s get ya ready, Dawg fans. Let’s prepare for this season and get ready to tailgate like Kirby and company are getting ready to hit The field. The Dawgs will be ready, so I feel we owe it to them as fans to be ready as well.
I’m going to give you a few tips on things to do at your tailgate to make your game day experience more enjoyable. And if any of these tips sound like bad ideas, I, along with the staff here at Dawn of the Dawg, are not responsible for any injuries and/or arrests that may occur.
