Georgia Football 2017 Season Preview: Auburn Tigers
How does 2017 stack up:
There is a lot of hope that this will be the year where things will turn around with the quarterback. Jarrett Stidham was one of the top rated QB’s in the 2015 class. He played 3 games at Baylor in his freshman year but decided to leave after the Art Briles debacle. After sitting out last season, he has transferred over to Auburn and a lot of people believe he will be the perfect focal point for Malzahn’s offense.
Offensively, they return plenty of weapons for Stidham to throw to. Kamryn Pettway could well be the best RB in the SEC if he stays healthy. He missed the UGA game and Auburn were not the same team without him. They also have some of the top ranked wide receivers in the past few classes on the outside and their defense remains nasty.
While there might not quite be the overall talent that there was last year, the QB position should be better. Sean White was the starter last year and while he’s always been a gamer, he lacks real top level potential. Stidham has it and with him on the field, Auburn should be a much more rounded team then they have been.
