4: Can some of these freshmen defensive backs make an instant impact?

Georgia signed a strong class of defensive backs in February. Richard LeCounte III and DeAngelo Gibbs both arrived back in January and made an impact on the 2 deep in spring training. They have been joined now by 5 more defensive backs in that class who all have the ability to make an impact.

Tray Bishop is the most intriguing player. He’s a terrific athlete who could play pretty much anywhere in the secondary. It will be interesting to see where he lines up to see where coaches are thinking of playing him. Latavious Brini is a player who will likely end up at safety but the other three all look like natural corners.

Ameer Speed, William Poole and Eric Stokes all have serious talent to play on the outside. Speed is a long, fast player who is a bit raw, but given time could be really impressive. Stokes is a burner and was one of the fastest men in Georgia when he was in high school. Poole is the most advanced of the three and could push for early playing time.

With Mecole Hardman moving to offense and UGA not being loaded with talent in the secondary, some of these players could see playing time. Camp will tell us who has taken the biggest steps forward.
