2: Say hello to the new wide receivers.

One thing Jacob Eason shouldn’t be able to complain about this year is a lack of receivers. Last year UGA was really lacking in this department, with the now departed Isaiah McKenzie the only real threat. That should hopefully change this year with several serious talents now on board, there is the real chance the offense is dangerous.

Terry Godwin was miscast last year out on the edge and with Mckenzie gone, he can return to the slot. This is where Godwin thrives and he looked fantastic in spring training. He’s taken on a leadership role with all the young receivers coming in an this should be a breakout year for him. Riley Ridley showed potential last year and if he can stay healthy, he could lock down an outside spot. Javon Wims as well brings senior leadership to this unit.

Then there are the new guys. Jeramiah Holloman looked impressive in the spring game and has all the talent to be a #1 reliever. I can’t wait to see where he ends up on the depth chart. Mark Webb, Trey Blout and Matt Landers bring depth to a position that was lacking lats year. These new guys can all make an impact and that is really exciting.

Last but not least is Mecole Hardman. The explosive athlete has officially moved to receiver for the season and will be there full time this camp. He could be special and I can’t wait to see him with the ball in his hands.
