Running backs: Nick Chubb and Sony Michel

Beginning with the obvious. Chubb enters his senior season with 3,424 yards and 29 touchdowns. And if not for his injury in 2015, he’d be only the second player in school history to have three-straight 1,000-yard seasons.

Michel goes into his final season with 2,386 rushing yards with 17 touchdowns and 525 receiving yards with five touchdowns. He was only 140 yards away from a 1,000-yard season last year. If he had accomplished that, Chubb and Michel would have become the first duo in school history to both rush for 1,000 yards.

Baring injuries or something unexpected, both will finish very high on Georgia’s all-time rushing yards list. Chubb will likely finish second behind Herschel Walker.

They might both pass Lars Tate for second in school history for rushing yards by a senior. Plus one or both of them might even surpass Kevin McLee for first place in that category.

But stats aside, it’s been a joy to watch both of them play. Chubb has earned all of the praise he’s received throughout his career and he’s truly been one of the best running backs in college football for the past four years.

Michel however, has always seemed underappreciated. In 2015, the media unfairly pegged him as just a scat back despite being over 220 pounds. He’s a really good, all-around back who would be a starter anywhere else in America.

Chubb and Michel will both end up as two of the greatest players to ever wear the red and black.
