Jackson Harris and Charlie Woerner

Georgia already has two solid tight ends on the roster. The senior Jeb Blazevich is finally with an experienced quarterback he has some chemistry with so he will have a good chance end his career on a very high note.

Isaac Nauta is already a star. He’s a big dude, with deceptive speed and hands like pillows. He’s a once in a generation player. And he is on track to be the best tight end in school history.

But, the Bulldogs have two other tight ends who shouldn’t be overlooked at all. First is junior Jackson Harris who people forget was the no. 5 tight end coming put of high school. Athletically he’s nothing spectacular, but he’s talented.

Thus far he’s suffered from the same issue as Blazevich. In 2015, they ran routes for Grayson Lambert who wasn’t good at throwing to tight ends and last year they ran routes for a true freshman.

Eason has improved over the last year so he should be much better at distributing the ball. That’s why I’m interested in seeing Harris. His numbers this season won’t be team leading by any means, but I think he’ll be more than just a body to put on the field when Blazevich or Nauta need a rest. I think he’ll be a solid contributor this year.

The second tight end is Charlie Woerner who battled injuries last year. If he stays healthy he can be a very dynamic player. He’s not as large as other tight ends, but he’s still bigger than most receivers (the position he played at Rabun County).

Tight, slot, split and flanker, I think he’ll line up in a variety of positions this season. He’s athletic enough to run wide receiver routes, plus he will be a good blocker out wide for toss sweeps and screen passes.
