Georgia football: sophomores who may emerge as stars in 2017
A new Georgia football season is in less than a month. Naturally all the hype is on incoming freshmen, but there are some sophomores to watch as well.
The 2017 Georgia football recruiting class was so great, the 2016 class isn’t getting any attention. Many players from that class went on to have really good freshman years.
Jacob Eason became the starting quarterback. Isaac Nauta proved why he was the no. 1 tight end and no. 12 player in America. And Riley Ridley showed that he is ever bit as talented as his brother for Alabama.
On defense, Tyler Clark and David Marshall became solid contributors, while Julian Rochester has worked his way into the backup defensive tackle position behind Trenton Thompson.
10 of the 22 enrollees of the 2016 saw significant playing time last season, some even started games. That leaves 12 players from last years recruiting class who still have a lot to prove to the Bulldog Nation.
