What do they do not so well:

While Stoops has built an SEC caliber offense over the past few years, he defense still lags behind. Jordan Jones might be one of the top linebackers in the entire SEC and the secondary is pretty impressive. However, the rest of the defense is certainly lacking in talent and it has struggled to contain offenses over the years.

The defensive line in particular is an issue for this team and while UGA did not have a strong OL last year, the fact that this game is so late in the year should give Georgia the chance to put out a much more developed running game than at the beginning of the year. That could be an issue for Kentucky who really need to control the clock against the bigger programs to win big games. That’s something they were able to do vs Louisville last year but traditionally they have struggled.

There is talent on the defense. Matt Elam was one of the top DL’s in his recruiting class and none other than Kirby Smart tried hard to take him to Alabama. However, he’s never developed at his home state school and like much of this defensive line has been disappointing. This is an area where UGA’s offense should be able to exploit and there is a great chance Georgia can put up a lot of points in this game.
