With the season inching closer, I’m going to preview each of the 12 games Georgia Football will have in 2017.

Continuing our look at all of the teams that Georgia Football will play in 2017. We’re finally at the end. The final game of the regular season for the 2017 Georgia Bulldogs. It ends as it always does, with a big of ‘Clean old fashioned hate’. There’s not really any other way I’d like UGA to end the season than beating the heck out of those ‘Nerds’ after the loss last season. I like most UGA fans took quite the ribbing from the Tech fans that I know. I’m very much looking forward to repaying the favor in 2017…

Who were they in 2016?

2016 was a bounce back year for Georgia Tech. In 2015, they had by far their worst ever season under Paul Johnson and only finished 3-9. Last year they did much better, finishing 9-4 including a big bowl win over an SEC team in Kentucky. Now granted, Kentucky aren’t exactly an SEC powerhouse, but that win made the SEC look pretty bad, especially after the Tech beat UGA.

Their biggest issue was that all of the games that they lost were to fellow ACC competitors. Losing to eventual champions Clemson was to be expected. However, considering how they played the rest of the season, they really should have beaten at least one if not two of Miami, Pittsburgh and UNC. These losses meant that they finished in the middle of their division, despite being undefeated outside of the ACC.

Blowout wins over lesser SEC powers Kentucky and Vanderbilt meant that they went 3-0 against SEC opponents this year. That 28-27 victory over UGA on the final day of the regular season still sticks in my gut. That one really… REALLY hurt.
