There was a great moment for Georgia Football fans when one of their own found his way into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Former Georgia Football running back Terrell Davis accomplished something Saturday night that most football players only dream about. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This year’s class included fellow running back Ladanian Tomlinson, Quarterback Kurt Warner, controversial Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, and the kicker who sent the Falcons to the 1998 Super Bowl with his game winning kick against the Vikings, Morten Anderson, among others.

Davis is one of only 7 running backs in NFL history to rush for over 2000 yards. He rushed for 2008 that season. TD was also a part of the Denver Broncos team that beat the Falcons and Morten Andersen that year.

While he never had a truly historic season at Georgia, he flourished in the NFL. Davis had one of the greatest 3 year stretches of any back in history from 1996-1998. He rushed for 1538, 1750, and 2008 respectively in those 3 seasons. TD was a 2 time Super Bowl champion with the Broncos scoring victories in back to back years over the Packers and The Falcons. He was also the Super Bowl MVP in 1997 and the NFL MVP in his 2000 yard season in 1998. Not too bad for a 6th round pick.

Terrell’s love for the G was shown to still be strong as he gave a big Goooo…Dawgs! in his acceptance speech Saturday night. Davis transferred to Georgia after the football program he was playing for, Long Beach State, dissolved it’s football program.  He finished his college career with 1919 yards and his best season was in 1993 at UGA when he played in 11 games and rushed for 824 yards.
