Florida players and coaches respond to Georgia being named favorites to win the East

Players and coaches of the defending SEC Eastern Division Champions took offense to Georgia being named the favorites to win the division. Maybe they’re justified, after all, Florida did win the East in 2015 and 2016, beating Georgia along the way.

However, Georgia had a much better recruiting class. The Bulldogs also have an established quarterback and the best running back duo to compliment a defense that will surely be one of the best in the SEC.

If Florida wanted to be the favorites, they should have recruited better. They should develop quarterbacks better. They shouldn’t have gotten blown out be Alabama. They look like a team that might be spinning their tires in the mud. While Georgia with this last class looks like a team ready to take over the east.

We’ll really find out who’s the better team in a few months. But for now, defending champions or not, Florida looks like an inferior team overall to Georgia.
