With the start of the season less than 3 weeks away, there are still some off the field victories Georgia Football fans will look for this weekend. Two of the schools top 2018 recruiting targets are going to make their decision. First, will be Azeez Ojulari, who will announce today at around 2.30pm. Next will come Kearis Jackson, who has been UGA’s most sought after receiving target of the 2018 class. Securing both of these players to go alongside Elijah Moore who committed on Tuesday would be huge for the 2018 class. Jackson is going to announce his decision on Saturday at 4pm. Signing both would bring in two premier positions as well as top flight Georgia talent.
A little about Azeez.
Ojulari is probably the lesser known player to most fans. He’s really burst onto the recruiting scene this offseason. He did exceptionally well at the Atlanta Nike Opening showcase and followed that up with another great display int he Opening Finals in Oregon. He’s a long and explosive athlete who could end up looking a lot like Lorenzo Carter in terms of size and speed if he commits to UGA.
I think Azeez could end up being a better player than Carter. He’s raw, but he does have natural football instincts and I expect him have an impact early on. He’s the kind of player Georgia fans should really want to see in Red and Black on Saturdays.
‘King Kearis’ is going to be big time.
Jackson is another player that could be a cornerstone of this class. Don’t let his current rankings fool you, he could end up being one of the most impactful receivers in his class. Like Moore, he’s a natural slot guy, but he’s not just explosive, he’s also incredibly strong. While he does not quite have Moore’s explosive first step, his strength seperates him from others. This is a guy who won the state shot put title last year. To do so, he beat out offensive and defensive linemen, people more than 100lbs heavier than him.
What you don’t see in his highlights is that strength. That’s what really sets him apart and I think he’s going to really factor into whatever team he ends up at. I think he’s going to be a great blocker at the next level and that will earn him playing time for this team if he chooses UGA. He’s also very close to Justin Fields and a commitment to UGA would certain help the dawgs case there.
Conclusion.

This could be a huge weekend for UGA recruiting. Georgia is the hometown school and probably favorite for both these kids. Win each of these battles and that 2018 class is looking pretty good. Keep an eye on DotD the next few days, we’ll be doing our best to keep you updated with their decisions.
