Kearis Jackson could be the best of the bunch.

Jackson was the final player of the week to commit to UGA. He might also be the one I am most excited about. He’s the highest ranked player of the 3, but personally I still think he’s underrated. Jackson is one of those players who looks like he was born to play in the slot. He’s quick, runs crisp routes and has great hands.

Where he really stands out is his strength. Jackson actually won the Georgia State Shot Put championship in his Junior year of high school. Just let that sit in. A 200lb receiver beat a collection of 300lb linemen at a strength event. Imagine a guy like that not only wrestling with corner-backs for catches, but also blocking for your running game. Yeah sign me up.

Add in the fact that Kearis strikes me as the kind of guy who seems very tight with other recruits. He’s made it clear numerous times that he wants to bring OG Trey Hill and QB Justin Fields with him to whatever school he goes to. Both are big time UGA targets and both would elevate this class even more. Jackson is a player who could be a key component of another loaded Kirby Smart recruiting class.

His commitment was one that suggests this 2018 class is going to be good. The fears of April and May should officially be over now. Fans now can start dreaming of just how good the 2018 class is going to be. If you ask my opinion, it’s going to be another gem.
