Georgia Football: DotD Projected depth chart for UGA.
Defense:
Defensive Line:
- DT: Trenton Thompson, Jr. NT: John Atkins, Sr. DE: Jon Ledbetter, Jr.
- DT: Julian Rochester, So, NT: DaQuan Hawkins-Muckle, Jr. DE: David Marshall, So.
- DT: Tyler Clark, So. DE: Malik Herring, Fr.
In what should be a very deep unit, there should be plenty of rotations this year. The starting front is very strong but there is plenty of depth this season. Players like Tyler Clark and David Marshall should make a big impact and look for a big improvement from Julian Rochester this year.
Outside Linebackers:
- Lorenzo Carter, Sr. Davin Bellamy, Sr.
- D’Andre Walker, Jr. Walter Grant, Fr.
- Robert Beal, Fr.
With very experienced starters, unless there is an injury, there will likely not be too much rotation. That being said, Walker has shown ability when he has played and Grant has received rave reviews. His ascension is likely the main reason Chanacey Manac transferred out this past week. Beal is raw and might redshirt however if he improves as the season in practice, look for him to get some looks.
Inside Linebacker:
- Roquan Smith, Jr Natrez Patrick, Jr
- Reggie Carter, Sr Monty Rice, Fr
- Nate McBride, Fr Jaden Hunter, Fr
Another unit where the top 2 should play most of the snaps. Smith and Patrick are the leaders of this team. Carter will step in when needed and call plays if both of them are off the field. Look for Smart to try and get his freshmen experience in some of the easier games if he can.
Secondary:
- LC: Aaron Davis, Sr. LS: Dominick Sanders, Sr. RS: Richard LeCounte, Fr. RC: DeAndre Baker, Jr Star: JR Reed, So
- LC: Tyreke McGee, So LS: Latavious Brini, Fr RS: Jarvis Wilson, Jr. RC: Ameer Speed, Fr. Star: DeAngelo Gibbs, Fr.
One of the more scary elements of the roster in terms of depth. There is young talent but the number of freshmen who are in the 2 deep is worrying. All of them are talented, but they are very raw. Malkom Parrish should return and claim back the LC spot in 3-4 weeks which would really help going forward.
