Special Teams:

Kicker:

  1. Rodrigo Blankenship, So.
  2. David Marvin, Sr.

Blankership has apparently held off a big challenge from Marvin. That’s a good sign for this year. Marvin is a solid kicker and so Blankenship will have to continue to kick well to keep the job as the season goes on.

Punter:

  1. Cameron Nizialek, G.
  2. Marshall Long, So.

Nizialek has won the job over last years starter, Marshall Long. He had a solid average of more than 44 yards a punt in the 2016 season. Long will provide a backup, which is not something UGA had in 2016.

Kick Returner:

  1. Mecole Hardman, So.
  2. Sony Michel, Sr.
  3. Ahkil Crumpton, Jr.

Hardman is going to be the starter in this unit. UGA is going to find ways to get the ball into his hands and this is a good place to start. Michel is going to also be back there on some kicks as Georgia looks to get him more touches this season.

Punt Returner:

  1. Ahkil Crumpton, Jr.
  2. Terry Godwin, Jr.
  3. D’Andre Swift, Fr.

Next: Will we see 'the old' Nick Chubb in 2017?

This is one of the main reason the team brought in Crumpton. He was a dynamite punt returner in Junior College. He will likely return most of them but look for Godwin and Swift to see the occasional look as the team looks to maximize its weapons this year.
