Game Report: Georgia Football beat Appalachian State.
3rd Quarter:
Georgia would put the game out of sign in the 3rd quarter with two more scoring drives to start the quarter. The first one was a decent drive down the field that was led by numerous runs over 8 yards by NIck Chubb. All of these helped move the chains and another pass interference call helped get UGA into field goal range. Rodrigo Blankenship hit an easy 23 yarder to extend their lead.
Georgia would score again the following drive. This was a drive driven by big time running from Chubb and Michel and that helped make up for some slightly shaky throwing by Fromm. Chubb had a big 28 yard run and would end up finishing off the drive with his second touchdown of the game. Both of these drives took up the vast majority of the defense did not see the field very much because of this.
When they did get on, they ended up shutting down App State again. There was no standout plays in the quarter for the defense but they just shut down their opponents, particularly on the ground. The first team unit was in for the entire quarter and they looked dominant as a unit. They certainly gave fans a lot to feel confident about as they shut down what last season was a very prolific offense.
