Game Report: Georgia Football beat Appalachian State.
4th Quarter:
With a 31-0 lead, the Georgia coaches decided to make some changes just before the 4th quarter started. A lot of starters were pulled and we had a chance to watch a lot of the young freshmen for the first time. Unfortunately, one of the few seniors on the field, Brice Ramsey had one of his worst performances as a UGA player. The 3rd string QB ended up throwing two interceptions in two series and both of those led to points for App State.
The first was a bad throw that he pushed into double coverage trying to find Michael Chigbu. The pass was underthrown and wobbling and it went straight to Desmond Franklin. Franklin returned the ball to the UGA 26 yard line which gave App. State an easy opportunity to score. They were able to get on the board with an easy 20 yard run by Taylor Lamb. Lamb scampered through the middle of the defense after it had been spread out trying to defend the pass and they just left too big of a hole to cover.
Ramsey’s second interception was little better, throwing on a 3rd and 17 but at least this time, App State had worse field position starting at their own 41. They had 3 consecutive big gains but the UGA defense was able to stop them at the UGA 26 and force the field goal. All that was left to do was for UGA to kneel and run out the clock to secure the 31-10 victory.
