What recruits were at the Georgia Football game this week?
LB Otis Reese.
Reese was a bit of a surprise arrival for me. He committed to Michagain alongside Aubrey Solomon back in June last year. Solomon eventually backed out of that commitment only to go back to the Wolverines in February on signing day. Reese and Solomon were teammates at Lee County so I have to say, I’ve never seen him backing out of his commitment. He’s been committed to Michigan for more than a year now and it just always looked like he would stay that way.
That being said, there are some rumors out there at a flip is an option. Michagin is a very long way away for Georgia players and although the education at the school is excellent, it’s by no means a slam dunk that the school is the best place for everyone. Reese in an OLB but he could play in a variety of different positions. He could end up on the inside or even at safety in some packages. He’s a versatile player who should find a way to make an impact wherever he plays.
I still don’t know if I’m ready to fully buy into the flip being on. But I do think it was great for UGA to get Reese in for game 1. There were a lot of freshmen who made an impact yesterday and that is good to see if you’re a recruit. Players like Richard Lecounte did well and that’s a good message to show a player like Reese. We’ll have to wait and see on him, but still, it’s an exciting prospect to be in the race for.
