The offensive line is still terrible

One thing fans were looking forward to seeing was how improved the offensive line would be. The 2016 line was one of the worst in recent memory so surely this years would be better.

And well, the offensive line didn’t look too good at times Saturday night. But they definitely looked better in the hurry-up offense, which is encouraging.

We can’t yet just ram the ball down opponents throats just yet, but the offensive line has improved. Appalachian State loaded the box and focused mostly on stopping the run. If the line hadn’t improved, we would have watched a similar performance to last years Nicholls State game.

Next: Week one report card

But we didn’t, the offense scored 31 points and compiled over 200 rushing yards. There’s room for improvement, but there’s no reason why the offensive line can’t be a consistent unit by the end of the season.
