Vanderbilt should be taken seriously

Like Mississippi State, we didn’t learn too much about Vanderbilt. So I still see them as a very dangerous team for the Bulldogs. The Commodores beat Middle Tennessee State 28-6. The Blue Raiders completed a lot of passes, but Vandy didn’t allow them to gain many yards and their one touchdown came late in the game.

But we already knew Vanderbilt has a solid defense. Derek Mason isn’t going to allow their defense to be anything less. The big question is their offense, and with 28 points and 367 yards of total offense, the Commodores had an okay day.

But Ralph Webb only ran for 49 yards on 24 carries, which isn’t a good. Kyle Shurmur did look great however with 20 completions for 296 yards and three touchdowns, but if Vandy can’t get Webb going, the offense is going to struggle against this season.
