Georgia football: Observations of opponents after week one
Missouri can’t play defense
Drew Lock in the passing game and Damarea Crockett in the running game looked good for Missouri. The Tigers put up 815 yards on offense and I don’t care who the opponent is, that’s impressive.
What isn’t impressive is the 492 yards that their defense allowed Missouri State to accumulate for 43 points. The Tigers defense played much better in the second half, only allowing eight points in the final two quarters. But falling behind 21-20 after the first quarter and clinging to a 48-35 halftime lead can’t be encouraging.
Georgia’s defense will have their hands full with Missouri’s offense. But our strong front seven should prevent Missouri from maintaining drives for much of that game. Offensively, Georgia should have their best day of the season. If an FCS team can score 43 and rack up 492 yards, surely Georgia can move the ball with ease against the Tigers.
