Florida’s offense is awful without top three players

With three of their top offensive players suspended, Florida’s chances of beating Michigan began to diminish before the two teams even kicked off in Dallas. But did anyone expect to see the Gators offense get smacked around like that?

It’s not like this is some great Michigan defense that has been built over the course of a few seasons. They’re replacing nine starters, surely Florida could have managed some success on offense.

But instead, they couldn’t find the end zone and their only points came on a 46-yard field goal. Their other two touchdowns came from a pair of interceptions and their defense forced Michigan to settle for field goals four times in the 33-17 loss. So Florida fans should find some encouragement in the fact that their defense still appears to be pretty solid.

But how much of an impact will Jordan Scarlet and co. have when they return from suspension? Florida’s offense didn’t just look like they missed their three stars, they looked completely incompetent. They only rushed for 11 yards and averaged seven yards per pass attempt. Three players aren’t going to fix that.
