The Georgia Football team did their fans proud last night, winning a huge game in South Bend. By the looks of it, more than half the stadium was filled with Bulldog fans who traveled up to see the game. They were treated to a nerve-wracking game. One where the outstanding unit was the UGA defense that won them the game.
This wasn’t a game for offensive purists. It was one won in the trenches and as a bulldog fan, it was glorious!
First Quarter:
The game didn’t start off particularly well for the Georgia Bulldogs. The Irish scored a field goal on their first drive of the game thanks in part to a pass interference call against D’Andre Baker. Baker committed the error on a third down which gave the Irish life on the drive.
On Georgia’s first drive, they received another penalty that killed them. Elijah Holyfield returned the kick off 90 yards inside the Notre Dame 10 yard line. However, Jarvis Wilson gave away an unnecessary holding penalty on a player who was nowhere near Holyfield, negating the huge gain.
On their next possession, Georgia got a big 30 yard run from Nick Chubb. Unfortunately, the drive stalled and UGA had to settle for a field goal themselves. The defenses then kicked into gear and closed out the rest of the quarter as the teams changed sides tied at 3 – 3.
