Fourth Quarter:

Down 17-16 to start the quarter, Notre Dame put together a big drive to start the quarter. They drove 73 yards down the field, thanks in part to two facemask calls. With 30 yards in penalties and 2 free first downs, they were able to get the ball inside the UGA redzone, but the defense held strong again. JR Reed made a lights out tackle on QB Wimbush 1 yard short of the 1st down to force the field goal.

Two more three and outs followed but when Georgia got the ball back with just over 6 minutes left, they started the game winning drive. Nick Chubb had his most violent run of the season, making 12 vicious yards. Javon Wims had a fantastic catch for 31 yards that took UGA into field goal range. Georgia couldn’t get inside the Notre Dame 10 yard line for the `1st down, but Blankenship made up for his earlier error and kicked the winning field goal to make the score 20-19 with just over 3 minutes left.

Two very quick three and outs followed and Brandom Wimbush got the ball back with just under 2 minutes left. He completed a big 17-yard throw to the ND 36 yard line, but the next play, UGA’s defense stepped up. OLB Davin Bellamy blew past his blocker and sacked Wimbush, forcing a fumble. Lorenzo Carter fell on the ball and completed the turnover. This gave Fromm the chance to kneel and close out the game
