Terry Godwin and Javon Wims

We all figured that the running backs would play well, but the receivers needed to play great for Jake Fromm to really settle into the game. Terry Godwin and Javon Wims did just that. The two had identical numbers; two catches for around 35 yards each.

All four of those catches were huge, especially Godwin’s one-handed touchdown grab in the second quarter that electrified the Bulldog Nation. Originally called incomplete on the field, a video replay made it clear that Godwin made probably the best catch of his career at Georgia. Wims also once again made a jump ball catch over defenders to pick up another 30 yards for the Bulldogs.

When Fromm needed some help, they were there for him. They’ve both become leaders on this team. Wims has only been with the program for two years, but he’s a senior and his maturity shows. Godwin has been a star receiver since his freshman season in 2015. He is a reliable target who’s leading by example right now.
