Georgia Football: 5 Freshmen to watch this Saturday.
3. WR Jeremiah Holloman:
It’s been a tough start to the season for Holloman. The early enrollee had a great spring training period and did really well in the G-day scrimmage when playing with Jake Fromm. However, he injured his hamstring during the fall camp and had to watch a lot of the sessions from the sideline while others progressed.
He clearly has the physical tools to be a threat on the outside. Standing at 6-2 and over 200lbs, he’s built exactly how you would want an outside receiver to look. He’s also a unique athlete and could be a serious downfield threat if he develops.
While he has sat out the past two games, this week could be an opportunity for him to finally see some time. If the game looks to be in the bag then he is exactly the kind of player coaches will want to get in and see the field. His rapport with Fromm is something that they will be keen to work on and exploit and he has the speed to be something different on the outside.
The receiver position group is stacked this year, but Holloman could be a legitimate successor to Javon Wims next season. Games like this would be a great chance for him to get some experience and continue to grow.
