Georgia football: Observations of opponents after week two
Jarrett who?
I thought this Jarrett Stidham guy was supposed to be the savior of Auburn’s offense. They were supposed to put up 2013-like numbers again. Stidham was going to throw the ball all over the field and the running backs were supposed to be unstoppable.
Then how come Auburn lost to Clemson 14-6? I know Clemson are the defending National Champions, but six points is pitiful. Maybe Clemson’s defense really is top notch. Or maybe Auburn’s offense was overrated. I think it was a bit of both.
Auburn has three weeks coming up to fix the issues on offense. They host Mercer this week which should be a cake walk, but you never know. Then they play Missouri whose defense we already know is garbage. Then they play Mississippi State who doesn’t have a great defense either.
Auburn’s defense however does look good. After being a liability for the first few years under Gus Malzahn, they finally learned how to tackle, lineup and cover opponents last season. So far in 2017, those improvements have remained true.
