Georgia Football fans got a nice Monday morning present when they woke up to the commitment from in state 2018 DT Tramel Walthour.

Georgia Football kicked off their Monday Morning in a good way. Fans were treated by a commitment for the 2018 class and it’s a big one. Tramel Walthour is a DT from the same school as Richard LeCounte who could be a force in the middle.

After the 2017 class failed to add a big man on the DL, this is a big commitment for the Dawgs. Devonte Wyatt from that class had to go to JUCO but he is expected to join Georgia in January. That’s 2 DT’s now in UGA’s 2018 class. This is a position group that Kirby Smart will be looking to improve. Smart has always had a deep rotation on the defensive line and he will want to keep that going in 2018.  Don’t worry about Walthour’s ranking, check out his high school play so far:

Trenton Thompson looks like he’s back to his best. If he plays like this, will likely end up an early round draft pick. 2017 could well be his final year. Add in the loss of John Atkins as well who will be departing after this season. That means that Georgia needs to get some new blood to step in and back up the current sophomores. Julian Rochester, Tyler Clark, and Michal Carter have all made a big-time impact at Georgia so far.

Next: 5 takeaways from the Samford game.

Julian Rochester, Tyler Clark, and Michal Carter have all made a big-time impact at Georgia so far. Walthour and Wyatt, however, will both have a chance to step in early in Athens however. There remains space for some others as well. Look for UGA to continue to push to sign Rick Sandidge and Trevor Trout to complete their line class.
