Georgia Football: Week 3 Report Card vs Samford Bulldogs
Defense: A
Georgia’s defense had another solid game in Week 3. Samford only managed to gain 249 yards of total offense against the Dawgs, including only 22 yards rushing as a team. This has been a real strength for the defense so far and it’s no secret why. Trenton Thompson and the other DT’s are playing great football right now. Roquan Smith is also playing out of his mind and is stuffing the run all over the field.
Georgia will have to be very good against the run this weekend against a Mississippi State team. They not only have a good running back but a top dual-threat quarterback as well. Fortunately, players like Natrez Patrick and Smith will be dialed in for him. Overall, it was another great game for the front 7.
Georgia’s pass defense was able to contain Samford’s pass-heavy offense and the secondary once again didn’t give up any big plays downfield. With Malkom Parrish possibly returning from injury this week, the secondary will only get better as the year goes on.
