Each week, Dawn of the Dawg will release a score prediction for the Georgia Football team’s upcoming game. Here’s how we did last week:
Prediction: Georgia 45, Samford 10
Actual Result: Georgia 42, Samford 14
For the second week in a row, the Georgia Bulldogs will take on another set of Bulldogs on a Saturday night in Athens, Georgia. Georgia takes on a red-hot Mississippi State team that absolutely embarrassed LSU last Saturday.
As it stands right now, Mississippi State may be the best team Georgia faces all year. With Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn all having early season struggles, the Dawgs may set themselves up for a special rest of the year if they can beat Mississippi State on Saturday.

Mississippi State has an extremely high-powered offense that can light up the scoreboard on any given day. The team is led by dynamic dual-threat quarterback Nick Fitzgerald who is a threat in both the passing and run games.
I am personally not yet sold on the Mississippi State hype. This team beat 2 very mediocre teams early in the season and the jury is still out on how good or bad LSU is in my opinion. The game on Saturday in Athens will serve as a test for both teams to see how good they really are.
This game could turn out very much like the Notre Dame game. I expect Georgia’s defense to contain Mississippi State’s offense much like it did against the Irish. On offense, Georgia will be heavily committed to the run and will set up Jake Fromm to throw in key situations (assuming Jacob Eason doesn’t play).

Like I predicted against Notre Dame, I believe special teams could be the deciding factor in this football game. That gives Georgia the advantage over Mississippi State. Cam Nizialek and Rodrigo Blankenship have been very productive for the Dawgs in the kicking game. Blankenship may be called on once again late in the game to put the Dawgs on top.
Prediction: Georgia 24, Mississippi State 21
Georgia takes on Mississippi State in Athens on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on ESPN.
