For the second week in a row, it’s dawg vs dog in Athens. But the dog coming to Georgia this Saturday is on a whole new level. Mississippi State is coming in hot as they walked right through the 12th ranked LSU Tigers last week. Although some of it was self-inflicted by LSU, Mississippi State handled them pretty easily, winning 37-7. With both teams coming in 3-0, Saturday night in Athens should be fun! So let’s dive into this #17 Mississippi State vs #11 Georgia breakdown.
What Mississippi State must do to win.
While watching their game last week, I noticed that the Mississippi State defense is big and physical, especially on the defensive line. Sophomore defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons was a star Saturday and could force Georgia into some uncomfortable offensive situations. Another thing I noticed was the confidence that defense had. They were tough, hard-hitting, and very mouthy. If they get into a rhythm defensively and boost their confidence, Georgia could have a long day offensively.
Nick Fitzgerald is probably going to be compared to Dak Prescott a lot. Fitzgerald runs the offense pretty similar to Prescott, with the quick throws and the QB power runs. His running back is a bad man as well. Junior Running back Aeris Williams is the main back who never stops turning his feet. He is a low to the ground runner that runs hard. For Mississippi State to win, Fitzgerald and Williams must be on their A- game against a very good UGA defense.
